An instrument-rated pilot will probably recognize, and perhaps have flown, the “SADDE SIX ARRIVAL”. This is the standard arrival procedure (STAR) for IFR flights arriving into the L.A. area from points north. Although Dan had given Alison this Discovery Flight as a gift for Christmas, a series of re-schedules due to weather pushed Alison’s flight all the way into April. Judging by their reactions, I think it’s safe to say that both Alison and Dan were convinced it was well worth the wait.
It was a beautiful clear morning at Palo Alto Airport and it was equally clear that Chris Lamb was ready to try out his new wings. As you can see, he did a fantastic job.
Chris has now entered the cross-country phase of his flight training, beginning late yesterday afternoon when both he and I flew out to Modesto and Oakdale in preparation for him flying the same trip solo very soon.
